African Australian Youth Empowerment Summit
African Australian Youth Empowerment Summit was a half-day summit that brought together local African youth, service providers, corporate business executives and government officials to learn about the image, potential and future of African Australian Youth.
The summit was an initiative of the Organisation of African Communities in WA Stop the Violence Project (STVP), whose objective is to identify youths in the African community at risk of committing crimes and match them with peer mentors who can steer them out of trouble.
Panel sessions were focused group discussions and ideas collated at the summit will be used to prepare a communique called the WA AFRICAN AUSTRALIAN YOUTH STRATEGY that will form component of the Stop the Violence annual reported submitted to the WA Government Department of Sport and Cultural Industries.
During the summit four (4) agendas were be covered:
- Employment
- Job Readiness
- Mental Health
- Alcohol and Drug

The Summit, the second largest African youth gathering in WA mobilized a diversity of attendances and policy makers from all Western Australia comprising of government officials, entrepreneurs, emerging youth and student leaders that gathered ideas to aggregate them into relevant themes to shape policy on African Australian Relations.
