Sidney Abiodun is a proven leader with over 20 years of experience in engineering, risk management, and governance in both public and private industry sectors across Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Throughout his career, he has led complex, large-scale projects and business transformation initiatives for global blue-chip companies, resulting in significant cost savings and increased efficiencies.
Sidney holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Engineering in Industrial Automation, among other credentials. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Chartered Professional Engineer, and a Fellow of Engineers Australia and the Governance Institute of Australia.
As the Executive Vice President of Operations for the Organisation of African Communities in WA (OACWA), Sidney will oversee operations to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness to meet current and future needs. He is committed to continuing the high-performance culture and promoting continuous improvement that values learning and quality commitment.
Sidney is passionate about mentoring and coaching young professionals. He served as a Mentor for the Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program (KMP), providing support, industry-related guidance, and advice to skilled newcomers to successfully navigate the Australian job market and secure fulfilling careers in their fields.
Sidney’s commitment to advocating for and advancing the welfare of African people in Western Australia is demonstrated through his community-focused leadership and passion for the African communities in Australia. He is dedicated to driving growth and success for OACWA and building strong partnerships with the government and other key stakeholders. Sidney is an active member of the Nigerian Association of Western Australia (NAWA) and former Chairman of the Edo Nigeria Association of Western Australia (ENAWA).
In his leisure time, Sidney enjoys social golfing and perfects his game on the course. He is also a lifelong learner who enjoys reading, listening to leadership podcasts, music, and travelling. Sidney values spending quality time with family and friends and supports the Manchester United Football Club, one of the most prestigious clubs in football (soccer).
