Ruth is a mechanical engineer and an entrepreneur (Jayru Home Bespoke) who uses her skills to solve lifelong problems innovatively. One such innovation is the expandable metal shoe rack designed to suit the size of any show collection, solving a lifelong problem of shoe storage. From the perspective of women, Ruth has used her training to innovatively provide
simple yet effective solutions to problems that most women face as they navigate their home daily routines and chores. In the STEM field, she demonstrates to the younger African ladies that they are equally capable of excelling in a field highly dominated by males. Her pop-up store design has attracted tremendous interest from interior designers, home builders, and
other shopping malls due to the unique nature of the product and design.

Peter Deng
Peter is a successful businessman who has the interest of the community at heart. Peter uses his skills and talents to assist those in need by linking them to service providers, programs, and opportunities. He is the founder of Africa World Books Pty Ltd., dedicated to supporting authors and their careers nationally and internationally. The business aims to create a consolidated community of like-minded and culturally similar (African) followers and engage with the African Diaspora for the good of humanity. The business further aims to become a leading authority in the book publishing industry. Peter is also the co-founder and director of Juba halala meat Pty Ltd., a Perth meat retail and distribution business. He again doubles as a business development and employment consultant, provides services around recruiting staff, helps people organise transport and household task, and a translator/interpreter: English and Dinka.

Safuratu Bakare
Safuratu is the curator of the African Fashion show, which had become an annual event held in Perth. The initiative has been her brainchild since 2017 till now. It presents contemporary fashion creations of WA-based designers of Africa descent to the world. The event exposes Australia to the different African heritages and the contributions of Africans to the Australian economy. Safuratu is a community person and has been instrumental in uplifting the Nigerian Community since 2014. She showcases and promotes African Fashion and Beauty products at various community events and is featured in almost every African fashion event. She has featured on ABC news to promote African Fashion – fabric, designs, and accessories. These promotions and awareness have imbibed a sense of providing in Africans in their native fashion dresses, designed to meet the needs of today. The initiative also empowers the African youth to succeed. Safuratu is charitable and has supported the “Feed the Hungry Australia – 2018, Christian Foundation – 2020”, etc.
