This category recognizes an individual, charity, community group or company who has worked to make a positive difference in the local, state, national, or global community. This individual, charity, community group or company should have worked toward the enhancement of wellbeing for communities.
This is the only award that recognises ‘unsung heroes’ that have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to deliver initiatives that transform and empower marginalised communities.
Joseph Mwansa
Joseph is the founder of the Global Empowers, a purpose-driven social enterprise that seeks to uplift impoverished people. The enterprise sets to provide clean water to rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. A water purification tablet, Vigor Aqua, has been produced for this purpose and has provided 1 million litres of clean water to rural communities across Zambia
and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently, Joseph and his “professional” partners are working on the Water Does Matter project to improve the health and living standards of rural communities. Joseph has also been an advocate for the need for clean water over the years; he spreads awareness of water and sanitation issues in Africa on some essential platforms. He is an author and published the book “The Source,” which seeks to inspire the minds and hearts of young people and promote education by encouraging them to read and explore the world through studies. Joseph is also a community man. He serves as the Chairperson for the organisation of Zambians living in WA (OZALIWA).
Kindly join us congratulate Joseph for his enormous contribution in creating a positive change.
