This Award recognises outstanding individuals in sport, media, and entertainment with a strong dedication and commitment to their pursuits. The Award recognises those individuals who have displayed success and talent in their field of choice. This includes entertainers who are musicians, performers, choreographers, and poets; all forms of sport including athletics, coaches and team members who have displayed not only the athletic ability but a strong sense of character.

Albert Muyembe

Albert has been a sports person almost all his life. Over the year, he has served in several areas of the game, from being payer to a manager and now as a referee. He has been honoured in several ways due to his dedication to the game.
After hanging his boots in 2016, he could not leave the game, he immediately moved into officiating in 2017. Currently, he is the only topflight African, officiating football with football west. He is now a Football Federation Australia (FFA) qualified level 2 Soccer Referee, was selected on the State League Referee panel, the 2nd tier group of the top 35 referees in WA. He was also part of the team appointed to officiate the Amateur Reserve Finals.

Albert played a significant role in transforming the fortunes of the Perth African nations football council. He continues to serve the game on the council as a vice-chairperson and is responsible for the tournament and the growth of the tournament.

Albert is a pure community person; he continues to offer his expertise to run the Sudanese Cup and encourages young Africans to take up officiating as he believes there is the need for more Africans referee in sport.

Cozzy Kozile

Cozzy is a sport and a music enthusiast. He has been into music since he was 14 year but just got much involved in music in Australia for the past 4 years. He has been recognised by the Zimbabwean community for his outstanding works with best video 2020 award and Kwekwe arts merit awards for the song – Amai. He has also been recognised in 2019 for the African
merit awards Nominees 2019.

Cozzy plays for the Warriors FC in Perth and has been involved in so many clubs, including the Eaton FC in Bunbury (2014 – 2015) and the Dalyellup FC (2016 – 2018). He played for the under 19’s Zimbabwe national football team and a professional soccer league team, Lancashire steel football club while in Zimbabwe.

Cozzy is noted for his good works as he gives back to the society is diverse ways: charity for the less privileged.

Lawrence Shuruma

Lawrence has been an athlete in Perth since 2009. He has played for so many teams including Perth Glory and the Australian all-star team. For his love and passion for the game, he is currently using his expertise and networking to run and manage a soccer academy (Football method international) both in Perth and Victoria. This affords him to coach and mentor over 60 kids, most of them being Africans.

He has ones been the coach for Perth Glory, for a club in Melbourne, worked in and around soccer in Malaysia and Cambodia. Lawrence has been recognised for his hard work and passion for the game by winning the Australian all-star awards twice representing WA, Football west fairest player of the year, and best junior coach.

He is a motivational speaker and a mentor to so many as he goes about schools and soccer academies encouraging the young ones. Lawrence is a true community member with affiliates to South Sudan and the Liberia soccer teams.
