Sylvia was born in Rwanda and has lived in Australia for 17 years. Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. She is soon to be admitted as a legal practitioner in Western Australia. She has an interest in both Criminal and Immigration Law. Sylvia has served as a youth leader in different organisations in Western Australia. She intends to continue working with the local youth to prevent further incarcerations of young African youth in our community. Sylvia has a strong interest in policies that impact our community. Sylvia has run as a candidate in both State and Federal elections.

As the Director of Public Relations and Communications, Sylvia will promote the objectives of OACWA and communicate events organised by OACWA by utilising media coverage and social media platforms. Sylvia fosters strong community relations by promoting strong communication with members of OACWA and other stakeholders.  Enhancing the branding of OACWA is a key focus for Sylvia, with an unwavering determination to support OACWA departments and association members with their media and communication strategies.
